Ajit Patwardhan, MD, MS, MBA brings over 20-year experience as a clinician and a global medical device executive. He has served as a healthcare leader to provide expertise in clinical/medical affairs, clinical development and business development to public companies like Integra Life Sciences, Paradigm Spine (RTI Surgical), HealthPro BioVentures & most recently at Baxter International. His expertise extends across diverse clinical disciplines of orthopedics, spine, neurosurgery, regenerative tissue technology, general surgery, plastic surgery, cardiovascular & critical care.
Dr. Patwardhan serves as a Medical Safety Officer at Olympus Corporation of Americas; where he is responsible for providing leadership for medical safety vigilance across the therapeutic solutions and endo-surgical business units of Olympus in Americas and European regions. Prior to this, he was Medical Global Business Head – Medical Delivery & Pharmaceuticals at Baxter International and Global Head of Medical Affairs at Integra LifeSciences.
Presently, Dr. Patwardhan, also leads the Med Tech Group, under the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) organization, a non-profit global medical affairs organization with over 8000 medical affairs professionals from 280+ companies globally.
Dr. Patwardhan is an orthopedic spine surgeon. He completed his medical education at the University of Pune, India. He subsequently trained as a spine surgeon at Yale University. He also holds a Masters in medical research from the Wayne State University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University Stern School of Business.
